May Festivities at the Shepherd Home

Here are some of the happenings in May at the Shepherd home. The kids all finished up the school year strong. We have our first official Shepherd graduate - Ashley. I can't believe it. We are excited for her and her future. She plans on staying here and going to MCC. She wants to go into their Nursing program. Girls camp is over and Julie is relieved/sad to see it end. I have been the Stake Camp Director for the last 3 years. It has been a blast. I have had the best Assistants and Stake Staff to help me along the way. Thanks to all of you for your help and support. It was a 3 year calling, so my run is over. It was fun, and I hope to continue going to Girl's Camp.

We accompanied Ashley and 5 of her girlfriends to Oceanside, CA for their Senior trip. A week on the beach was a welcome break after a week at Girl's Camp. The boys are doing sports camps all summer. Meagan is doing swim team at Taylor, and all 3 girls are looking for jobs. Time flies when you are having fun. School will be here before we know it. Thanks for checking in on us. Emily and friends Aubrey, Shelby, Jake, and Courtney after the Taylor Jr. High Awards Assembly. Emily received the American Legion Award, along with a $50 check. She also received the Scholarship Award for 3 years' worth of straight A's. Way to go Em!!

Here are some fun pictures of Ashley's Senior Prom. Her date was Brody Skinner. She said she had lots of fun. I went to my Senior Prom with Steve! I can't believe she is graduating this year. Where did the time go?

What Do You Do On Sundays?

Well lately, the Shepherd family has been trying to do things on a Sunday afternoon, that we haven't done in a while. One Sunday we put together every puzzle we could fit on our table. They were all ones the kids used to do when they were little. It was fun.

We also purchased some Play-Do. It was a blast, and much more fun now that the kids aren't mixing colors and getting it everywhere. Khodie and McKay happened to be over that Sunday. I think they thought we were a little strange, but in the end, I think they had a blast.

We said goodbye to my beautiful Grandma Dena Mary Zimmerman. This is my dad Rex, and his two brothers Ron and Don.
Our friend Jake Hatch got his mission call to Chihuahua Mexico.

Steve baptized his Mom Dixie on January 16, 2010. It was a great day!

Warning! Very long post with lots of pictures - all out of order!!! It has been way too long since I updated our family blog. Sorry! Last time I posted photos was October I believe. It is already half way into February, so I have missed posting, quite a few fun times! To start with. . . We have had 4 Birthdays, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Flag Football season (2 of them), Great Grandma Zimmerman's passing, lots of cousin times, Winter Formal, and many more memories. A last visit with Great Grandma Zimmerman before she passed away on Jan 28th, 2010. We will miss her, but know she is having a great reunion in heaven with Grandpa!!!

Another fun Flag Football Season with Uncle Shawn and Seth, Steve, Max and Zack. Rumor has it next season (Fall) might bring tackle!?!?!? Mom is so nervous, but the boys can hardly wait.
